Lillyth by Kim Francis is a unique marble sculpture measuring 40 cm high, 86 cm wide, and 34 cm deep. The form begins as a single rising shape, lifting slightly from its base as though preparing to bloom. Soon after, it splits into two sweeping curves that peel away from each other. Each side curls outward and then folds down, resting lightly on the ground to support the sculpture’s weight.
This split creates a delicate balance. The two forms feel independent, yet they remain connected at their origin, like twin petals emerging from one stem. The curves flow gracefully, giving the piece a quiet, blooming energy. It resembles a flower unfurling, but without literal detail. Instead, the sculpture captures the gesture of opening, the moment when something transforms from enclosed to expansive.
The marble surface heightens this feeling. Francis polishes the stone until it glows softly, revealing subtle layers within its natural colour. These tonal shifts move gently across the curves, much like light crossing petals. The material’s smoothness contrasts with the sculpture’s dynamic movement, grounding the shape while letting the gesture feel airy and organic.
Although abstract, Lillyth encourages viewers to see life emerging. Its two curled sides suggest growth, tenderness, and the tension of unfolding. The sculpture invites you to walk around it, to notice how the curves change from each angle. From one view, it looks protective and closed; from another, it stretches wide, full of openness. Through marble, Francis captures a moment of becoming, quiet, elegant, and full of possibility.
Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
