Let us go You and I by Won Lee, Bronze, Metal, Signed 1 of 8, 65cm high, 23cm wide, 15cm deep, Body, People sculpture

Let Us Go You and I by Won Lee is a bronze sculpture. Signed 1 of 8, standing 65 cm high, 23 cm wide, and 15 cm deep. The work explores figuration through abstraction, reducing the body to a series of geometric forms. At its core, the piece presents a tall, uneven rectangle. Air pockets scatter across its surface, giving it a raw, weathered appearance. Yet the sides have been smoothed down just enough to establish the clarity of its rectangular frame.

Beneath this main form, two small bronze rectangles act as supports, lifting the figure and attaching it securely to a dark metal base. Their placement suggests legs, creating a sense of grounding. Above, another set of small rectangles continues the composition, raising a smaller, more irregular block. This top element leans with uneven surfaces, its roughness contrasting with the steadier form below.

The stacked arrangement suggests a human figure abstracted into planes and blocks. Instead of natural detail, balance and proportion hint at shoulders, torso, and head. The rough textures and visible air pockets emphasize imperfection and process, as though the figure is caught between material and being.

Through these minimal yet deliberate forms, Won Lee captures both presence and vulnerability. The sculpture speaks of movement, relationship, and the journey of two shapes—or two selves—standing together in balance.
