“Flight” by Hattakitkosol Somchai captures the exhilarating energy of motion through an abstract bronze bird rendered in luminous, polished gold tones. Rising 148 centimeters in height, the sculpture commands attention with its striking verticality, yet its narrow width and depth 25 by 15 centimetres enhance a sense of elegance and precision. Somchai positions the bird on its side, as if caught mid soar, and mounts it on a minimal stand, allowing the figure to appear weightless despite the density of the bronze.
From every perspective, the sculpture emphasizes movement. The sleek contours and flowing lines suggest the bird slicing through air, while subtle twists in the form imply rotation and lift. The polished surface reflects light dynamically, making the golden figure shimmer as viewers move around it. Because of this interplay of light and form, “Flight” seems alive, perpetually shifting between stillness and motion.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
