Connected by Wendy George is a thought-provoking bronze sculpture, measuring 38cm in height, width, and depth. Cast as edition 2 of 9 and signed by the artist.
The sculpture features two stylized human heads facing in opposite directions. At first glance, they seem deeply connected, joined at the ears by a shared element. On closer inspection, this link might resemble a mobile phone, raising questions about how communication tools unite or separate us.
The surface of the bronze has a rich patina, with gentle variations in tone that accentuate the contours and expressions. Although the faces are simplified and abstract, they convey a quiet tension. The figures appear close, yet disconnected, both physically linked and mentally distant.
The cube-like composition gives the piece a balanced, almost meditative presence. However, the ambiguity of the connection adds complexity. Is it a symbol of empathy and shared experience? Or does it critique our dependence on devices to maintain relationships?
Connected invites multiple interpretations. It fits seamlessly into contemporary settings, whether displayed in a home, gallery, or public space. At once intimate and conceptual, it encourages viewers to reflect on how we relate to each other in the digital age.

The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
