Atman by Jonathan Loxley, Marble and gold leaf, 200 cm high, 70 cm wide, and 50 cm deep
Atman by Jonathan Loxley (b. 1960) Bold and elegant, it can serve as a contemplative centrepiece indoors or a dramatic focal point outdoors.
The sculpture features a white circular disc of marble. Gold leaf divides the surface in a pattern that recalls the face of a clock. This design suggests the passage of time while also hinting at eternal cycles. Light transforms the piece throughout the day. At times, the gold glows with warmth. At others, it reflects with crisp clarity.
A triangular stand, finished in metallic tones of gold and copper, supports the marble circle. The base provides both balance and contrast. Solid and grounded, it lifts the disc upward, creating harmony between stability and transcendence.
The title Atman adds depth. In Sanskrit, Atman refers to the inner self or soul, the eternal essence within. Loxley’s sculpture, therefore, becomes more than an object. It becomes a meditation on time, spirit, and the search for truth.
Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
