EARLY LIFE:

Alan has been developing and making sculpture since childhood where he began his work with some broken toys and a tube of super glue. At the age of 8 he saw a programme about a man welding a horse from bits of scrap metal. He was attracted to all the protective clothing, welding helmet and flashing blue light of the mig welder. Then at 16 years old he tried forging and welding and knew it was what he wanted to do. The combination of noise, fire and sparks really got his attention!

EDUCATION:
Graduated in 2001 from Brighton University with a degree in 3D crafts

CAREER:
He has trained as a blacksmith and is now a metal artist and sculptor.

MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Predominantly found and reclaimed metal.

SUBJECTS OF WORK:
Animals, Dinosaurs, Body, Steampunk.
