His parents were of Danish descent. Both his grandfather and uncle were sculptors, his grandfather was a coppersmith and helped make the copper Pegasus, that once was on top of the King’s Theatre, Copenhagen. It was his family members who inspired him to weld and create sculptures. Roy was among one of the first to use aluminium in the art world. Roy has gained an international reputation, his work has been exhibited throughout Europe and North America and is associated with many famous galleries in London. His work has been compared to that of Sir Jacob Epstein.
