Rod Vass
EDUCATION:
Rod Vass is a professional artist with a long career of artistic enterprise. Originally studying Fine Art in Newcastle during the 80’s and 90’s, he then went on to work as an international Illustrator and Designer, represented in the UK and USA.
CAREER:
His work has involved both 2D and 3D creations, with commissions ranging from illustration for advertising, publishing and packaging, designs and sculptures for holograms, archaeological reconstructions, exhibitions, installations and, TV and Theatre. Since 1997 Rod has been running Armordillo Ltd. – a business specialising in the making of sculpture, props, sets and costumes, primarily for the International Film and TV industries.
COMMISSIONS & INSTALLATIONS:
Rod established himself as an illustrator and designer, represented in London and New York, specializing in advertising, publishing and products. He also created small and large scale sculptures for holograms (including a life size MICHELIN MAN) and designs for retail display as well as co creating costumes and armour for BBC’s Doctor Who, Shakespeare, Black Adder and many others.
