Christian Maas is a French sculptor who has been active since the 1980s and is recognised for his contemporary figurative and animalier sculpture.
CAREER:
Christian Maas has established an international reputation as a sculptor, creating works that range from figurative studies to large-scale animalier sculptures in bronze and aluminium. His work often combines humour, sensuality and theatricality, and includes representations of notable cultural figures such as Michael Jackson, Grace Jones and Kate Moss. In addition to sculpture, Maas also creates highly sculptural furniture pieces that function as artworks in their own right.
