EARLY LIFE:
Stevens began his career in photography and academia, achieving recognition as an award-winning advertising and fashion photographer, with work held in the permanent collections of Manchester City Art Gallery and two U.S. universities.
EDUCATION:
Developed his skills in visual arts and photography through formal study and professional practice, providing a strong foundation for his later transition into sculpture.
CAREER:
Following guidance from The Sculpture Park, Stevens reoriented his practice to focus entirely on three-dimensional work. He is now a full-time sculptor and member of the Cotswold Sculptors Association, exhibiting widely through galleries and open exhibitions including the Victoria Gallery in Bath, Wells Open, and the Royal West of England Academy (RWA), as well as online.
MATERIALS:
Works in a variety of 3D media, applying his photographic and design sensibilities to create sculptural pieces that emphasise form, space, and visual impact.
STYLE AND SUBJECTS:
Stevens’ sculptures reflect a strong sense of composition and narrative, informed by his background in photography. His work is contemporary, often experimental, and designed to engage viewers through dynamic forms.
AWARDS AND EXHIBITIONS:
Winner of the 2024 Boomer Art Prize, Stevens’ work has been sold and exhibited through galleries in Bristol, Bath, Wells, the RWA, and online platforms.
