The Visitor was created in 1996 by Belgian artist Guido Deleu, as part of a contest to design a sculpture for the main entrance of a cultural centre in Flanders, Belgium. This striking but simple sculpture embodies a kind and friendly figure, enjoying his view.
He has proved to be very popular with visitors to The Sculpture Park, so much so that many have taken him home. Well, it is great to find a guest that is allowed to stay, and does not make a nuisance of himself!
This handsome work of art is available in many sizes, ranging from ceramic mantelpiece figures, measuring 18.5cm high, all the way up to a 180cm high bronze version. Many versions are of limited edition and are quickly finding loving homes.
