Peacock by Karen Green. Hand-Beaten Copper, Unique, 115cm high × 56cm wide × 43cm deep
Karen Green’s Peacock captures the elegance and poise of this iconic bird in a striking, life-sized sculpture. The peacock stands with one foot raised, as if mid-step, while its tail train cascades gracefully behind, creating a sense of movement and rhythm. Every curve and contour of the body has been carefully shaped, conveying both strength and delicacy.
Crafted from hand-beaten copper, the sculpture reflects Green’s mastery of material. The surface catches the light, revealing a rich interplay of warm tones and subtle textures that give the bird a sense of vitality and presence. The tactile quality of the copper emphasizes the handwork, making each feather and fold feel intentionally sculpted and unique.
As a one of a kind piece, this sculpture blends realism with artistic interpretation. Green celebrates the peacock not just for its beauty, but for its symbolism, pride, elegance, and vitality, allowing the viewer to connect with both the form and the spirit of the creature.
