This piece presents a cluster of wasp cocoons arranged along the side of a raw, dried section of wood, creating a strong dialogue between crafted form and natural material.
The ceramic cocoons vary subtly in size and rise in a gentle curve, echoing organic growth patterns found in nature. Each nest appears hollowed, suggesting both fragility and function. Their surfaces are smooth and refined, allowing the natural creamy tone of the ceramic to remain soft and understated. This finish contrasts beautifully with the wood beside them.
The wooden element remains largely untreated, retaining a dry, raw texture with warm brown and cream hues. Its irregular surface adds visual weight and authenticity, grounding the composition. Together, the materials highlight contrast, smooth against rough, refined against raw.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
