Guardian by Leo Björkegren is a unique figurative sculpture crafted from bronze and metal, standing 200 cm high and 38 cm wide. The piece depicts the head of a lizard mounted on a tall, slender pole, merging natural form with architectural presence.
The lizard’s head stretches forward elegantly, its long and narrow shape commanding attention. Fine bronze detailing captures the reptile’s texture. The scales lie smooth and flat across the face. Growing more pronounced and layered around the neck, adding depth and realism. Its small, focused eyes gaze outward with a calm yet alert expression, giving the piece a quiet sense of watchfulness.
As the neck curves downward, it transitions seamlessly into a thick, circular bronze ring that anchors the form. This ring connects the creature’s organic anatomy to the vertical metal pole below, creating a striking contrast between nature and structure. The polished bronze surface reflects light along the contours of the scales, while the darker metal of the pole adds visual grounding.
The sculpture rises with an air of strength and vigilance. The poised head and commanding height evoke the essence of a sentinel, a silent guardian standing watch. Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
