Flight by Tom Merrifield is a monumental garden sculpture cast in bronze with stainless steel elements. The piece stands approximately 3.7 meters tall and wide, creating a striking presence outdoors. It depicts a female ballet dancer captured mid leap, with arms and legs fully extended and her body arched gracefully. The figure rises from an elegant, sweeping curved support that gives the impression of lift and movement.
The sculpture emphasizes dynamism and poise. Despite the weight of the materials, the dancer seems to float effortlessly, creating a sense of weightlessness. The solid bronze figure interacts with the negative space of the arch, highlighting the drama of the leap. Viewers can engage with the sculpture from multiple angles. The title Flight reflects both the dancer’s airborne pose and a sense of aspiration and transcendence. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require specialised equipment, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park and outside sources. We can provide an installation service upon request, please email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
This piece will require dismantling and rebuilding upon arrival, and may take a few days to complete. Experienced professionals handle all our sculptures, ensuring safe delivery and proper installation.
