Crafted entirely from a single teak root, the piece immediately captures attention with its sweeping organic curves and branching forms. The maker shapes the chair’s structure with purpose, guiding the root’s natural lines into a seat, backrest, and arm supports that feel both expressive and inviting.
To enhance comfort and usability, the artisan sands and varnishes select surfaces, transforming sections of the root into smooth, warm planes that welcome the touch. These refined areas gleam softly, revealing the rich amber tones and intricate grain patterns of the teak. Furthermore, this polished finish creates a striking visual rhythm as it transitions into the untouched portions of the root.
In contrast, the un sanded sections retain their rugged bark like texture, preserving the wild, expressive energy of the tree’s natural growth. Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
