This piece captures an abstract elephant’s head in a minimal, abstract style while still conveying energy and personality.
The trunk curls playfully around a rounded rock, creating a sense of movement. The ears fan out on either side, giving the head presence and balance. The rest of the elephant’s body blends into the stone or remains absent, emphasizing the expressive trunk and ears.
Mundara contrasts textures to create visual interest. He smooths and polishes the trunk and ears, allowing the deep green opal to shine. Streaks of yellow and brown ripple through the stone, adding depth and warmth. Meanwhile, the rock the elephant holds stays bright white, forming a striking contrast. The back and base remain rugged and raw, highlighting the natural qualities of the material.
The sculpture guides the eye along the curves of the trunk, encouraging viewers to follow its playful twist. Polished and rough surfaces interact, enhancing the sense of life and vitality.

Delivery & Installation
The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
