Opportunity by Evison Nyamasoka is an expressive Shona Avocado stone sculpture that explores movement, openness and possibility through an elegant abstract form. Measuring 59 cm high, 34 cm wide and 15 cm deep, this unique sculpture combines flowing curves with carefully considered negative space, creating a composition that feels both grounded and uplifting.
Rising from a solid base, the form gradually expands before curling back around itself in a series of smooth, sweeping movements. Near the lower section, these curves create two distinctive circular openings through the stone. Consequently, light passes directly through the sculpture, transforming the empty spaces into an essential part of the overall design.
Moreover, the two openings introduce rhythm and balance while drawing the eye upwards through the composition. From this concentrated lower section, the stone continues to fan outward before gradually tapering towards the top. As a result, the sculpture develops a sense of upward momentum, with the expanding form suggesting growth, progression and the possibilities reflected in its title.
Although compact in depth, Opportunity achieves a strong sculptural presence through its silhouette. Meanwhile, the natural character of Avocado stone complements the organic curves and enhances the work’s tactile appeal. The Sculpture Park will be in contact after purchase to arrange a delivery date. Delivery will require at least 1 person, which will be provided by The Sculpture Park wherever possible. We can provide an installation service upon request, email Sian at sian@thesculpturepark.com to discuss details. Delivery and installation will be provided by The Sculpture Park for mainland Great Britain, excluding the Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Republic of Ireland. A mainland courier company will handle any onward shipping.
