Carved Hardwood II by Anon Unknown, Wood, Unique, 200cm high by 55cm wide by 33cm deep, Abstract, Nature sculpture, Wood,
Carved Hardwood II is a tall, unique sculpture carved from a single piece of teak, measuring 200cm in height, 55cm in width, and 33cm in depth. Rooted in nature yet elevated by craftsmanship, this piece retains the rich, earthy tones of the original wood, celebrating its natural form with subtle but deliberate intervention.
Flowing patterns have been intricately carved into the surface, following the contours of the wood. These markings echo organic rhythms, perhaps resembling ripples in water, windswept grasses, or the movement of time itself. The design does not overpower the material but instead works in harmony with it, enhancing the innate beauty of the teak’s grain, knots, and shape.
The piece maintains the full depth of its natural colouring. The golden-brown hues, warm and inviting, emphasize the tree’s original life and texture. The sculpture’s surface moves between smooth, carved planes and untouched, rugged edges, creating a dynamic contrast that invites closer inspection.
This work offers a powerful blend of the organic and the intentional. Whether displayed indoors or in a garden setting, Carved Hardwood II stands as a quiet monument to nature’s elegance and the human instinct to honour it through art.
