PARENTS:
Both of Walters parents were sculptors – His mother Anna and his father Joram. His father is considered to be the ‘father’ of the Shona sculpting movement.
EARLY LIFE:
Walter and all of his 4 siblings were encouraged to sculpt using hard stones by their father. By the age of 12 he was shaping raw stone to create natural forms and by 17 he was carving full time.
CAREER:
He worked alongside Japanese sculptor Masaji Asaga, in 1994, and his international debut came in 1994 with him exhibiting at the Chapungu Sculpture Gallery. He has represented Zimart in Canada since 2001, and was the artist in residence in 2005 and again in 2015.

Women, love, nature, beauty and emotion, but since marrying his wife Fiencer, the real sculptures of Walters life are his children, Nigel, Walter Jr and Adaeze.
