Tendai Chareka is a Zimbabwean born Sculptor.
Early Life
Inspired from childhood, Chareka developed his artistic skill naturally, without formal art school training, and has been practising sculpture since 1993.
Career
He currently lives and works in Guruve and is an artist at the Chitungwiza Art Center. His work reflects a commitment to preserving moments in history through sculpture, with the intention of passing knowledge on to future generations. One of his most notable works depicts Cecil the lion, whose death in 2015 sparked global outrage.
Materials
Chareka works primarily in stone.

His sculptures focus on wild animals, carved with careful attention to detail and often true to life size, capturing realism alongside cultural and historical significance.
