Svaja

About Svaja
Svaja is a company specialising in fine glass artwork, founded by Kristina Svajone Bobs. The name “Svaja” is derived from a Lithuanian word meaning “dream,” reflecting the brand’s artistic vision. Since its establishment in 1999, the company has focused on creating distinctive, high-quality art pieces across a range of glass forms, growing into an internationally recognised brand.

Kristina Svajone
Kristina Svajone Bobs was born and raised in Lithuania before moving to England to pursue higher education, earning a BSc degree in chemistry and mathematics. After graduating, she worked in modelling, which gave her insight into consumer preferences and aesthetics. During this time, she identified a gap in the UK market for glass accessories suited to minimalist interiors. Inspired, she began producing handmade glass pieces following a return visit to Lithuania. What began as a small venture gradually expanded, with her unique designs gaining popularity and evolving into the Svaja brand.

Materials
Svaja’s work centres on hand-blown and mouth-blown glass, often enhanced with varied colouring techniques to create depth and visual interest. They also delve into bigger pieces of work, which can include stoneware and resin.

Style & Subject
The brand’s creations are inspired by a wide range of influences, including fashion, travel, interiors, nature, food, and contemporary design. Pieces range from abstract plates and vases to sculptural forms inspired by animals and organic shapes. The work is characterised by modern aesthetics, fluid forms, and expressive use of colour.

Awards & Exhibitions
Svaja has achieved international recognition, completing prestigious commissions for luxury hotels, resorts, and corporate headquarters worldwide. Their pieces are featured in high-end restaurants, boutiques, fashion outlets, home stores, and private residences across the globe.
