Steve Langford was born in Worcester, UK.
Education
As a child, Steve was very creative and showed an early interest in art. Upon leaving school Steve went straight into sculpting, making him self-taught and with no formal training from an art college.
Career
He began his career straight after school as an artist at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, where he gained experience across many areas of the ceramics trade, including ornamental and functional casting. After many years, he joined Country Artists as a sculptor, working on a range of projects, particularly wildlife pieces. He later established himself independently, creating resin bronze sculptures sold in galleries across the country.
Materials
Steve works with both ceramics and resin bronze, his work mediums changing between pieces.
Style & Subject
Steve is best known for his wildlife sculptures, his works including birds and british wildlife in charming detail. Having a specialty for detailed miniature works.
Exhibitions & Commissions
His work has been sold internationally, including in America, and he has completed commissions for organisations such as Royal Doulton, the Sultan of Oman, and the U.S. Navy. In 2014, he was commissioned to produce wildlife sculptures for Unique Bronze Ltd.
