Stefano Toso
Born
Stefano Toso was born on November 11, 1958, in Venice, into a family with a long tradition of glassmaking.
Early Life
He grew up within the family glass workshop and began learning the craft at a young age under the guidance of his father, Berto Toso.
Education
He began formal training as a glassmaker in 1975 at the A.L.T. Glassworks, later completing apprenticeships in engraving at F. Moretti Glassworks and under Livio Seguso.
Career
In 1977, he opened his own furnace and cold working studio, producing original glass pieces and developing his practice through collaborations with artists such as Egidio Costantini. In 1982, he partnered with Romano Donà to open a furnace where he worked for over a decade, refining his techniques and collaborating with artists including Robert Willson, Kyohei Fujita, and Lucio Bubacco. He is now retired, leaving behind a significant legacy in contemporary glass art.

He works in glass, specialising in cold working techniques and engraving to refine form and surface detail.
