Royal Katiyo

Murehwa Eastern Zimbabwe, 1972.
Royal started sculpting at an early age, he had natural talent which was soon recognised by established artist Luke Mugavazi, it wasn’t long until Royal became Luke’s apprentice. Royal stayed with Luke for a few years before going to work with Anderson Mukomberanwa who was the son of Nicholas Mukomberanwa. In 1996 Royal was selected to join the Chapungu Sculpture Park as a resident artist. His work has been included in many exhibitions.
