Peter Hodgkinson was born in 1965, in Preston, Lancashire.
Education
He studied at Preston College.
Career
Hodgkinson is a sculptor who established a studio in 2002 at the Barton Hall Animal Health Centre on Garstang Road. He is best known for public commissions, including two footballing statues: The Splash (2004), depicting Tom Finney in Preston, and a statue of Stan Mortensen (2005) at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool.
He also created a statue of L.S. Lowry (2011) for Sam’s Chop House in Manchester. In 2012, he was commissioned by Lancashire County Council to produce thirteen bronze Diamond Jubilee busts of Queen Elizabeth II, one for County Hall in Preston and one for each of the county’s twelve town halls.

He works in a variety of materials, including stone and bronze.
Style & Subject
Hodgkinson produces both figurative and abstract sculptures, with a strong presence in public art, particularly portraiture and commemorative works.
