Paul Lewis

It was while travelling and working in America that Paul learned the skills and knowledge required to use glass in a variety of innovative and idiosyncratic ways, creating furniture, decorative items and sculptures. Paul is a self-taught sculptor and creator, working initially in glass he has now diversified into other more traditional materials, where he learns the nuances and subtleties of the medium as he progresses.
Matilda and Partner are cast from an historic taxidermy gull that was marked with a commemorative plaque ‘In loving memory of Matilda’. The mount is part of a music hall window from the West Pier in Brighton, with full provenance and authenticity it is a little part of history, upcycled for the future with a new purpose.
