From an early age Nicolas showed talent in drawing and painting, he started carving in the last year of his Fine Art degree in 1985. The medium he prefers to use is the dark blue grey Northampton limestone that he discovered on the farm where his studio is based, he also works in Purbeck marble, Derbyshire Fossill and Ancaster Weatherbed. He’s known as one of Britain’s leading contemporary stone sculptors. With a career that spans over 35 years he is an elected member of the Royal Society of Sculptors. His work has is exhibited in well known exhibitions around the country. He has won many awards throughout the years, his work can be found in many private and public collections worldwide.
