BORN:
1940 – 2002

LIVED:
Born in Buhera, One of Zimbabwe’s most internationally respected artists.

FAMILY:
He married Grace in 1965 she also was a sculptor. They had 8 children.

EDUCATION & CAREER:
Nicholas attended Serima Mission School, this was where he first discovered he had a creative talent. From there he moved to Harare and became a policeman. In 1962 he met the new director on the National Gallery, Frank McEwan and quickly joined McEwans workshop. It wasn’t long before he left the police force in 1976 to become a full time sculptor and continued until he passed away in 2002.

EXHIBITIONS:
Nicolas’s work formed part of several exhibitions during 1960 -1970 including Musee Rodin in Paris, his work was selected for the poster image, he also had 6 solo exhibitions.
