From an early age, Mieke De Weerdt was fascinated by drawing, painting and ceramics, developing a strong interest in artistic expression and sculptural form.
EDUCATION:
Mieke attended evening classes at the Academy of Art, the Technical Institute H. Family and the Academy of St. Luke’s, where she studied sculpture.
CAREER:
Mieke De Weerdt has developed a career as a sculptor known for creating expressive figurative works that explore emotion, movement and human connection. Her sculptures are exhibited internationally in galleries and art fairs.
MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Working predominantly in bronze, Mieke creates sculptures with flowing forms and refined surface textures that emphasise emotion and character.
