EDUCATION:
Michael Kenny studied at Liverpool College of Art, the Slade School of Art, and Goldsmiths School of Art.
CAREER:
Kenny was a highly regarded British sculptor, particularly recognised during the 1980s and 1990s. He was sometimes referred to as “the Liverpool Italian” due to his admiration for Alberto Giacometti and the influence this had on his large plaster structures.
Alongside his artistic practice, he lectured at the Slade School of Art during the 1970s. His work gained particular attention for its geometric stone constructions and strong architectural qualities.
