He lived in Histon, Cambridgeshire.
EDUCATION:
Michael Gillespie studied at Hammersmith College of Art, where he learned bronze casting techniques.
CAREER:
Michael was both a teacher and a sculptor. Early in his career, he worked casting for Jacob Epstein, who became a major influence on his artistic development. Alongside his own sculptural practice, he taught at Hertfordshire University. His work was widely exhibited, and he contributed to the field through his publication Studio Bronze Casting in 1969.
