Mel Howse

EDUCATION:
Mel studied Architectural Glass at Swansea Institute, Wales (1989), following a Foundation in Art Studies at Portsmouth College of Art (1987).

CAREER:
Mel has over 20 years of professional experience designing, producing, collaborating, and installing highly individual artworks. A key influence on her practice is working within industrial environments, which has shaped her progressive approach to glass. She focuses on innovation in both design and structure, allowing materials to guide the final expression of her work rather than simply reproducing initial concepts.

MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Toughened glass, enamelled steel, and other contemporary industrial materials.

SUBJECTS OF WORK:
Primarily architectural and material-led works, often integrated into built environments.

EXHIBITIONS:
