EDUCATION:
A foundation course at Harrogate Art College was followed by degree studies in Fine Art at Sheffield Polytechnic

CAREER:
Teaching and residencies at numerous schools, colleges, institutions and academic centres, Mayne has maintained a commitment to teaching throughout his career, to encourage both teachers and children to participate in sculpture projects.

MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
He uses a variety of different techniques and materials to produce both gallery and public artwork, including coiling, welding, cutting, grinding, rusting, polishing, plating and casting.

EXHIBITIONS:
David produces work for galleries, public spaces and the domestic environment. His artwork has been commissioned through-out the country and can be found in town centres, rural locations, public buildings and private homes and gardens
