Luke Burton

EARLY LIFE:
Luke Burton found formal education challenging due to dyslexia. Instead, he developed his understanding of the world through observation and self directed learning, which became the foundation of his creative practice.

LIVES:
He lives and works in the United Kingdom.

CAREER:
Burton went public with his artwork in 2012. He gained recognition for creating a 22 foot diver Olympic and Paralympic monument, which is permanently installed at the National Exhibition Centre. His work has also been exhibited in restaurants associated with Marco Pierre White. He is currently undertaking an ambitious global project titled The Connection Worldwide, envisioned as the world’s largest piece of art, with components placed across 195 countries.

STYLE AND SUBJECTS:
Burton’s work often explores themes of unity, diversity, and human connection. The Connection Worldwide reflects ideas surrounding race, nationality, and gender, aiming to bring people together through a shared artistic vision.

AWARDS AND EXHIBITIONS:
