Lea Rose Kara

Kyiv, Ukraine, 1998
EARLY LIFE:
Lea Rose Kara was born in Kyiv and later moved to the United Kingdom, where she is now based in London. Her early interests developed around science and philosophy, particularly biology, technology, and epistemology, which continue to inform her artistic approach.
LIVES:
She currently lives and works in London, UK.
CAREER:
Kara completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Bath in 2020, followed by a Master’s degree in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art in 2022. She has received multiple awards that have supported periods of living and working in Italy. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and is held in private and public collections worldwide.
STYLE AND SUBJECTS:
Her practice is largely STEM influenced, drawing on biology, technology, and epistemology. Through her work, she explores the relationship between organic and synthetic systems, often questioning how knowledge and materiality intersect.
MEDIUMS USED:
Metal, silicone, fabrics, and found objects.
AWARDS AND EXHIBITIONS:
Kara has received several awards and has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections around the globe.
