EDUCATION:
Studied from 1956 – 1960 at the Edinburgh College of Art under Helen Turner and Eric Schilsky.
Awarded a scholarship that enabled him to travel across Europe and Scandinavia.

CAREER:
Keith McCarter worked in the United States as a designer for Steuben Glass, where he also explored construction materials and their potential applications in art.
He later taught for four years at Hornsey College of Art before becoming a full-time sculptor.
From 1963 to 1973, he lectured on the aesthetics of concrete at the Cement and Concrete Association, reflecting his interest in industrial materials and their artistic possibilities.
