John Mulvey

Born in Manchester 1939
EARLY LIFE:
Mulvey is a self-taught sculptor, born in Manchester, who spent some years as a sheet metal worker, a grounding which he believed influenced his works, helping him “to achieve the essence of his subject with a simplicity of form and an economy of line”.
MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Mulvey worked in bronze, figure and animal subjects, the forms often bordering on abstraction.
EXHIBITIONS:
He showed at the Expositions Annuelles des Beaux Arts in Paris, winning a bronze medal in 1974 and silver in 1976. Commissions have included Rolls Royce Ltd and the Parachute Regiment.
