Jacob Epstein
BORN:
Jacob Epstein (1880-1959) born in the United States and moved the Europe in 1902, was an American-British sculptor who was a pioneer in the modernist movement and was associated with the most avant-garde artists of the day such as Pablo Picasso and playwright George Bernard Shaw.
Epstein produced controversial works which challenged ideas on what was appropriate subject matter for public artworks.
