Ian Nutting was born in the 1960s in the United Kingdom.

EARLY LIFE:
Ian Nutting developed a strong early passion for art and conservation. From a young age, he was influenced by concerns about environmental destruction and the loss of natural habitats, which became central themes in his later work.

LIVES:
He is based in the United Kingdom.

EDUCATION:
He completed a foundation course at Canterbury College of Art and went on to study sculpture at Central Saint Martins from 1981–1983. During this time, his focus on art, nature, and conservation became more developed.

CAREER:
After graduating, Nutting worked as a conservation technician at the Tate and later assisted sculptor Antony Gormley. He also worked with sculpture restoration specialists Taylor Pearce during the 1990s.

His professional experience includes work on major cultural institutions and heritage sites such as the Royal Academy exhibitions, the Royal Collection, Windsor Castle, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Palace of Westminster, and Lincoln Cathedral.

These experiences significantly shaped his artistic development and his focus on sculpture, conservation, and natural themes.
