EDUCATION:
BA Hons Ceramics, University of Westminster London, BTEC CEC Ceramics, Amberley College, London City and Guilds in Signwriting, Hammersmith and West London College, London
CAREER:
Before completing a ceramics degree Gail worked as both a sign writer and an antiques restorer, not only does Gail make sculptures she also makes practical furniture mainly ceramic mirrors, her experience in working with antiques has massively helped with giving her inspiration.
MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Stoneware and clay and colouring with oxides and glazes. Her work is often mounted on stone bases or random objects she collects from seaside visits.
SUBJECTS OF WORK:
Gail’s love for Guernsey and the sea has gone a long way in influencing her work as well as her love for the natural world, predominantly its birds. Some of Gail’s work is of a serious nature where others are more light hearted. She try’s to give her sculptures their own personalities.
