Frank studied at Birmingham Polytechnic, where he obtained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and later an MA in Sculpture. While his education focused heavily on conceptual ideas, he maintained a strong belief in the importance of craftsmanship and the ability to produce resolved, tangible work.
