Eduardo Paolozzi was born on 7th March 1924 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the eldest son of Italian parents. He passed away on 22nd April 2005 in London.

EDUCATION

Paolozzi studied at the Edinburgh College of Art and the University of Edinburgh before continuing his training at the Slade School of Fine Art in London.

CAREER

Paolozzi established his art studio in Chelsea, London, which became famously filled with hundreds of random objects, models, tools, toys, and books that inspired his work. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Pop Art, he also taught ceramics and sculpture at multiple institutions throughout his career. His practice spanned sculpture, printmaking, and collage, blending elements of popular culture, technology, and surrealism. One of his notable public works includes the mosaic design for Tottenham Court Road Station in London.
