Doug has built a reputation as the man behind the “Smile” which is his iconic signature motif. His work has gone from monotonal to blazing technicolour. It was Mark Rothko who made a huge impression on him when he saw him at the Tate Modern. Hyde has been named by BBC news as the most popular living artist in the UK and has been featured on many programmes.
His work can be found in many private collections, and has created commemorative work for many occasions including, 2014 world cup, 2016 Olympics he has also been appointed the official artist to the England rugby club. Over the years he has raised many thousand of pounds for Charites.
