BORN:
May 15, 1993, Gokwe Gumunyu, Zimbabwe
EARLY LIFE:
The youngest of eight children, Zinyeka grew up in Gokwe Gumunyu. From a young age, he was surrounded by family influence and inspiration, particularly from his older brother Thomas, a well-known artist in the Zimbabwean art scene.
EDUCATION:
Completed primary and secondary education in Gokwe. After finishing school, he moved to Harare to pursue sculpture under the mentorship of his brother Thomas. Following Thomas’s untimely passing that same year, Confidence began working independently as an artist in 2010.
CAREER:
Zinyeka has established himself as a skilled contemporary sculptor, creating works that attract collectors globally. His independent career since 2010 has seen his pieces sold internationally, building a reputation for quality and expressive craftsmanship.
MATERIALS:
Prefers to work with Springstone, Green Opal, Black Serpentine, and Cobalt stones, applying traditional and innovative carving techniques.
STYLE AND SUBJECTS:
Focuses on figurative forms, including heads, animals, and birds. His work emphasizes realism blended with expressive detail, highlighting form, texture, and emotion.

His works have been collected and exhibited internationally, reflecting his growing presence in the contemporary Zimbabwean sculpting community.
