Charles Bran was born in 1991 in Guildford.

EARLY LIFE:
Charles grew up immersed in art, with a father who was a well known sculptor and dealer. From an early age, he spent weekends and school holidays working at The Sculpture Park, developing practical experience and an appreciation for both contemporary and classical works. His formative years were shaped by exposure to a wide variety of artworks and the artists behind them. After completing his formal education, Charles spent time traveling and working abroad in countries including Australia, India, Thailand, Cambodia, and West Africa, taking on menial jobs while reflecting on ideas and designs for his own work.

LIVES:
He currently resides in Farnham.

CAREER:
Upon returning from his travels, Bran pursued full time work at the Sculpture Park. This hands on engagement with thousands of modern and contemporary artworks, as well as direct interaction with artists, shaped his understanding of form, balance, and material. Over time, he developed a distinctive approach, combining multiple media to create sculptures that respond to both natural and human aesthetics.

MATERIALS:
Bran works in a wide range of materials, including bronze, copper, lead, stainless steel, and various metals, allowing flexibility while maintaining balance and form.
