BORN:
Biggie was born in September 1971 in Zimbabwe.

EARLY LIFE:
He grew up in Zimbabwe, surrounded by the country’s rich artistic traditions and natural resources. From a very young age, Biggie showed an interest in sculpting and began experimenting with stone carving early in his life. His environment played a key role in shaping his artistic identity.

EDUCATION:
Biggie developed his skills largely through hands-on experience rather than formal academic training. Like many Zimbabwean sculptors, he learned through practice, observation, and guidance from other artists within the local sculpting community.

CAREER:
Biggie is a professional sculptor known for his expressive and symbolic stone carvings. His first exhibition took place at Chapungu Sculpture Park in Harare, Zimbabwe, which is internationally recognised for promoting Zimbabwean sculpture. Since then, his work has gained international recognition and has been exhibited in galleries across Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the UK.

MATERIALS:
He works primarily with Zimbabwean stone, which is famous for its quality and beauty. He feels fortunate to have access to these unique materials found in Zimbabwe.

STYLE AND SUBJECTS:
His sculptures often focus on women and relationships, with recurring themes of human emotion and connections. Biggie believes sculpture is a form of storytelling, and each piece conveys a message or celebrates aspects of nature and life.
