Andre Harvey
BORN:
9th October 1941 – 6th February 2018 Born in Hollywood United States, raised in Pennsylvania.
EDUCATION:
1963 He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from University of Virginia. In 1969 after working as both an educator and a journalist both Bobbie, his wife, and Andre quit their jobs and spent some time travelling through Europe and Morocco. It was whilst they were on their travels through France, Andre met and started working with Michel Anasse which was the start of him taking up sculpting as a career. On returning to US, he began small realistic sculptures,
MEDIUMS USED IN WORK:
Bronze, using the lost wax method, Granite, Paintings and sculptured jewellery.
EXHIBITIONS:
Andre’s first big exhibition was in Tiffany & Company’s window in New York. With a career spanning over four decades, his work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally as well as being bought by many people for both private and public collections.
