Alastair Michie, son of artist Anne Redpath, was born and educated in France and Scotland. He studied architecture, served as an RAF pilot, and became a freelance graphic artist. In the 1960s, he transitioned to painting and sculpture, later shifting to acrylic and mixed media. In 1984, he joined the Royal West of England Academy and exhibited at prestigious venues like the Royal Academy and Royal Scottish Academy.
