Tourterelle by Marilyn Vergne, Stoneware, 58 cm high x 55 cm wide
Tourterelle is a red stoneware sculpture by Marilyn Vergne. It depicts a turtledove perched calmly on a post. The bird’s rounded form and smooth lines give it a gentle, peaceful presence.
Vergne shapes the stoneware with care, capturing the soft curves of the bird’s body and the slight tilt of its head. The warm red clay adds life and warmth to the piece. The post beneath the bird grounds it, creating a sense of balance and stillness.
This work celebrates nature’s quiet moments. The turtledove, a symbol of peace and devotion, appears watchful yet at ease. The simple form invites viewers to slow down and notice small, beautiful details.
Whether displayed alone or among other works, Tourterelle brings a touch of calm and warmth to any space. It is a reminder of the gentle presence of birds and the timeless beauty of natural forms shaped by skilled hands.
